Description

Position: Clinical Negligence Solicitor/FCILEx Lawyer
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Bristol

Overview
A respected Legal 500 firm is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor/FCILEx Lawyer to join their award-winning team in Bristol. This is a great opportunity to become part of a highly regarded team to support injured individuals, uncover issues with medical care, and help restore lives impacted by negligence. This full-service, medium-sized firm is known locally for delivering high-quality, client-focused legal services to individuals and businesses.

The Role
This is an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of pre-action and litigated cases while supporting senior colleagues on high-profile, complex claims of maximum severity. You will work in a well-resourced and supportive setting, delivering exceptional client service while achieving positive outcomes; responsibilities include drafting court documents, preparing witness statements, interviewing clients, complying with pre-litigation protocols, attending hearings; advising on funding options such as CFAs and legal aid. You will also engage in non-fee-earning tasks – professional development, business development, cost management, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and firm regulations.

Who
You will be a qualified lawyer or FCILEx specialising in claimant clinical negligence, with strong IT literacy and the ability to adapt to new systems. Familiarity with social media and networking for business development is also advantageous.

Why
On offer is a comprehensive benefits package, including a minimum of 25 days' holiday (with the potential for more through tenure or purchase schemes), flexible and hybrid working options, pension contributions, death-in-service benefits, and annual bonuses. Employees receive support for professional development, discounted legal services, childcare vouchers, season ticket loans, health cash plans, and access to a virtual GP and counselling services. Social perks include summer and Christmas events, long service awards, and opportunities to join committees focused on charity, diversity, wellbeing, and staff development.
