Solicitor (NQ) - Care, Capacity and Court of Protection - West Sussex
A local and well respected firm serving the Sussex region are seeking to add to what is an already established and effective elderly client services team which has some very experienced Solicitors and Partners within it's ranks and so has built a reputation for meeting the needs and providing an excellent service to their clients.
The department would like to add further expertise in the form of a newly qualified Solicitor (or CILEx equivalent) who is keen to develop their professional expertise. The role will be based at the second office, just west of Worthing.
As part of the Care, Capacity and Court of Protection team you will act for clients for whom partners of the firm are appointed as Attorney and for clients who the Head of Department is a Panel Deputy. You will manage client financial and legal affairs, ensuring care needs are met and assets are appropriately invested, liaising with third parties (Social Services, Local Authority, Care Providers, etc.) on the client's behalf. You will also deal with costings and billings including where assessed by the Senior Courts Cost Office as well as liaising with the firms Trusted Assistants regarding personal attendances with clients and other more practical matters that will require attention
The role provides a great opportunity to work under the guidance and supervision of one of the firm's specialist solicitors and play a part in what is a thriving and growing team of specialist expertise.
A good grasp of the procedure and technicalities of this area of law will obviously stand you in good stead for this position. You should be a very organised individual with a proven ability to work within a high pressured legal environment within a team environment. The needs an individual with a personable nature and keen to integrate and play a key role in long term growth, excellent interpersonal skills are also key when engaging with clients also.
