Great opportunity for a Property Solicitor, min 4 yrs PQE, to join the projects team as part of the wider Government and Infrastructure group of a top rated Central London law firm
This role requires a strong real estate, land rights and consenting knowledge together with a wider knowledge of how real estate interlinks with the wider project. As work will include projects for a major energy company and infrastructure providers (particularly rail, light rail and electricity), experience working on such major infrastructure projects is essential.
Experience of working on a number of key infrastructure projects involving programming and implementation of compulsory purchase powers provided by way of Transport Works Act Orders, Compulsory Purchase Orders and Development Consents using the General Vesting Declaration (GVD) process and by consensual transfer under the notice to treat/notice of entry procedure is required.
Significant experience of advising public bodies on administrative law, statutory interpretation and regulatory issues arising in an infrastructure context is required.
The role requires a good knowledge of land law, landlord and tenant law, land registration and property tax and some knowledge of construction. Experience with environmental issues likely to affect property transactions (particularly contaminated land) is needed.
The role will also involve an element of supervising a team of paralegals in delivery of specific projects and portfolio transactions, provide technical guidance and quality control. This will be client facing and so previous experience of project management in relation to a substantial property project and of managing portfolio transactions is also essential.
