Residential Conveyancer - Head of Department
A long established multi sited regional practice wishes to appoint an experienced Residential and Commercial Property Conveyancer to be based at its Harrow office in a Head of Department role.
The practice is a full-service firm which has offices across the Middlesex, London and Kent and is renowned for offering the complete range of legal services to both individuals and commercial entities within its geographic reach.
The Residential and Commercial Property Team is undergoing a period of significant growth and so is keen to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join its established team which comprises a mix of solicitors, legal executives, licensed conveyancers as well as very experienced non-qualified fee earners.
The team in Harrow deals with a mixture of private instructions and panel work although many instructions do come from direct referrals. This role provides a large amount of direct client contact with a loyal client base but at the same time affords the security of regular panel instructions.
You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience of dealing with the full remit of the residential or commercial conveyancing process and will be competent in dealing with sales and purchases, leasehold and freehold matters, registered and unregistered land and title checking, rent reviews, lease renewals, estate management work as well as dealing with occasional non-standard complex matters. As this is a Head of Department role there is a requirement for the post holder to be qualified as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer. Ideally you will have experience of managing a small team, but this is not essential if you have strong technical skills and a desire to progress into a management role.
Whilst the firm is very keen to promote progression, it strives to maintain a relaxed and friendly environment, so this is a great opportunity for those who might feel that progression opportunities are limited in their current role, particularly as there will be significant opportunities to grow the department by undertaking a variety of business development initiatives.
The firm prides itself on promoting a healthy work/life balance, so you will still be able to deal with high end quality matters at a firm that takes a much more pragmatic approach to caseload numbers.
In return the firm is offering a highly competitive salary and benefits package. You will also be able to take advantage of the firms' bonus scheme and have the benefit of a support team.
